As one of the constituent elements of language,vocabulary is an important part of language.It is at the forefront of language development and is the most active and fastestchanging content in language evolution.As an important part of the vocabulary system,political vocabulary not only reflects the changes of the language itself,but also reflects the timely evolution of society.This article takes the political vocabulary in the Mandarin Dictionary and the Modern Chinese Dictionary(7th Edition)as the research object,and compares the changes of political vocabulary.The first part is the introduction.It is explained from five aspects: the reason and significance of the topic selection,the research status,research content and methods,innovation and difficulties,and the source of language materials.The second part is a quantitative study of the political vocabulary of the two dictionaries.First,we define political vocabulary and divide political vocabulary into four categories: political system,political thought and theoretical system,international politics and diplomacy,political subject and organizational structure.Secondly,from the three aspects of quantity,syllable and vocabulary distribution,the basic situation of political vocabulary changes in the Mandarin Dictionary and Modern Chinese Dictionary(7th Edition)is summarized.The third part is a comparative study of the political vocabulary interpretations recorded by the two dictionaries.First,It mainly studies the changes in the content and meaning of political words.Secondly,Use the corpus to test whether the dictionary definition is consistent with the corpus.We can find that Mandarin Dictionary does not contain certain meanings of political vocabulary.Modern Chinese Dictionary(7th Edition)includes the meaning of the low frequency of use by the Republic of China.The fourth part is a comparative analysis of the political words unique to the two dictionaries.There is no Modern Chinese Dictionary(7th Edition)in Mandarin Dictionary,Mandarin Dictionary does not included and Modern Chinese Dictionary(7th Edition)is included,these two aspects are investigated whether the political vocabulary of the two dictionaries is consistent with the corpus.On the one hand,the Modern Chinese Dictionary(7th Edition)does not contain some political phenomena,the language itself has always existed,and the political vocabulary with higher frequency is used.On the other hand,the political vocabulary added by the Modern Chinese Dictionary(7th Edition)has the same name but different meanings.The fifth part analyzes the reasons for the changes in the political vocabulary of the two dictionaries.It is found that the differences between the political words in the two dictionaries in terms of collecting words and interpretations are the result of mutual influences such as social development,cognitive orientation and codification conditions.The sixth part is the conclusion.It mainly includes the conclusions,shortcomings and expectations of future research work.
