Study On The Words And Meanings Change Of The Sixth Edition Of "Modern Chinese Dictionary"

Along with the development of society is accelerated,people open mind,the spirit of reform and modernization consciousness are greatly enhanced,reflected in the application of language is innovation and creation."Modern Chinese Dictionary" since first published in 1970s,has made the five amendment,modification,deletion and mainly started from increasing.Every amendment makes Chinese more standardized,to make Putonghua better promotion,and promote modern Chinese teaching work to a certain extent.The "modern Chinese Dictionary(6th Edition)and the" modern Chinese Dictionary "(the 5th Edition)were compared,analysis of the" modern Chinese Dictionary "(the 6th Edition)is the fifth edition,revised in terms of word entries,and sums up the summarizes some rules of Chinese words and meanings of development and change.Through systematic research,the author found:First,from the point of view of the number of word entries change:new words and expressions of the entries are significantly more than the deletion of entries.This proves that the amplification and gain speed is far greater than the reduction speed and reduce the word meaning.At the same time,the new item is far more than the new meanings,the deletion of the entry is also far more than the deletion of items.Second,from the point of view of the part of speech of the word entries change:either increase the word entries or the deletion of the word entries,part of speech of the number of the top three were as follows the nouns,verbs and adjectives.Third:From the point of view of the characteristics of word entries change:new lexical entries with disyllabic trend is obvious,words present simplification trend,a derived class words increased and relative antonyms increased;cut word entries with the deletion of the words is not practical,the deletion of the characteristics of complex and difficult to remember the words;new meanings sense expand,narrowing of meaning,characteristics of the transference of meaning and meaning derived;deleted items has cut obsolete meanings,deletion is not standard items.
