Jikang On Nature

During the Dynasties of Wei,Jin,Northern and Southern,with the status of the feudal ethical code increasing decline and its hypocrisy, serious pretense, the feudal ethical code of the social order, the role of cultivation had gradually weakened on the edge of collapse, and the nature to oppose feudal ethical code gradually showed its the root, the inner and importance. Wei,Jin's celebrities started from the nature constantly to find a way out the crisis-ridden feudal ethical code.The two ways of evaluating people appeared from the period of Wei-Jin Dynasties, i.e.the debates between name and substantive and between language and meaning, were also contributed to emphasize the conception of nature. In addition, in Han Dynasty due to rejecting the cumbersome confucianism and the prophecy and false theology, the concentration upon nature was on the rise.So nature had become an important philosophical issue in the Wei,Jin.This thesis discusses the conceptual levels and historical development of nature. Secondly, the thesis starting from the inner development and evolution of idea investigates the rise of the natural issue and internal factors in Wei and Jin. Finally, the thesis focused on the four levels of Ji Kang's natural conception:the nature of object, human nature, the harmony of nature and the principle of nature. In addition, it discussed his another important thoughts, namely, "transcending the feudal ethical code and living freely" and "transcending name and letting heart freely" Thus, it proves that human nature and natural ontology is very important for Jikang who made clear the unity and contradiction between the feudal ethical code and nature,put forward the idea beyond feudal ethical code's superficies to enter the natural essence and beyond the first layer of feudal ethical code to enter higher level of feudal ethical code of natural state.This thesis try to grasp the Ji Kang's comprehensive view of nature and context of the overall structure,meanwhile,it will shows that Ji Kang's view of nature form a key step of the development of metaphysics in Wei,Jin,Southern and Northern Dynasties.
