Study On The Genealogy Of Gao Huan Family In North Qi Dynasty

Bo-hai Gao family is one of the aristocratic families.The Gao Huan family claimed to be from Bo-hai Gao family.In recent decades,scholars tend to think that the Gao Huan family's pedigree is forged,but in the recent years,some scholars proposed that the Gao Huan family's pedigree recorded in the historical biography is true.In order to distinguish between right and wrong,this paper proposes some new ideas and viewpoints: firstly,In the first year of Taichang,Gao Huan supporting the Emperor Xiaowu and held the political ruling.He conferred official positions and titles on his deceased relatives in a large scale,and he also offered official ranking and titular honors to his living relatives.Then he moved tombs of some relatives who buried in various places and reburied in Luoyang.The people who got the peerage and ennobled were all Gao Huan's real relatives recorded in Wei Shu,and none of them was Bohai Gao.Meanwhile,the activities of moving graves at that time indicated that the Gao Huan family did not have a fixed family cemetery,which was very different from Bohai Gao.Secondly,by analyzing the situation in the late Northern Wei Dynasty,it was revealed that Gao Huan cooperated with the Gao Qian and Gao Ang brothers of the Bo Hai Gao of Hebei area in the end of the Northern Wei Dynasty to fight with Erzhu family.The two sides then became the same ancestor relationship,which was the beginning the Gao Huan family enter the Bohai Gao family.Thirdly,Gao Huan's predecessor was not famous.After Gao Huan gaining fame and fortune,he had the need to modify the predecessor pedigree.Taking Gao Hu and Gao Shusheng as examples,the comparison between Wei Shu and Bei Qi Shu and other unearthed documents was very different.The behavior that Gao Huan family shaped the life story of the two people and the traces of their official positions are vivid.Fourthly,the ancestors of the Gao Huan family did not have a high level of culture.Therefore,the names they used at that time were relatively rough,and there were names with a Hu language style.There were also a generation of people who were mostly named with the beasts.In the epitaph of the Gao Huan family,you can clearly see the traces of the elegance and modification of the names of the ancestors.Gao Huan's family not only created a pedigree for his ancestor,but also for the ancestors of the Bohai Gao's ancestors.Generally speaking,scholars analyze the combination of Gao Huan and Bohai Gao from the perspectives of “pseudofake” and “fascination”.However,the combination of the two sides were based on the combination of the interests of the two parties.
