The Study On Self-stigma In College Students With Depressive Disorder

Recently,depressive disorder has become the main problem of college student psychological counseling.Depressive disorder Students are not only suffering from physical symptoms,but also by the stigma caused by depressive disorders such as:the public with depressive disorder patients with "fragile,low ability,dangerous" and other stereotypes.These stereotypes and prejudices bear heavy burden and pressure.In this study,we investigated the college students with depressive disorder as the object,our aims are to explore the characteristics of college students self-stigma of depression and the forming process by the ways of using questionnaires and in-depth interviews.First of all,127 depressive disorder students were deprived of depression self-stigma scale(DSSS)to understand the status of depression students self-stigma from the overall.Secondly,five depressive college students were interviewed by the researcher in a semi-structured in-depth interviews,we try to find how the self-stigma to form.The results found that:(1)self-stigma involved in the confidentiality,stereotypes and stigma experience three dimensions.college students have the highest degree of confidentiality of depression,following by depressive disorder.Bring a strong experience of self-stigma,in contrast,depressed depression to low.(2)female college students in the depressive disorder of the stereotype was significantly higher than male college students.(3)depressive disorder of liberal arts college students on the depressive disorder of stigma,stigma experience is much higher than the science students,and reached a significant level.(4)Depression for the first time The self-stigma generated by college students is much higher than that of non-first-time students.They will feel more intense stereotypes and stigma experience,and more conservative depression.(5)Hospital treatment of depressive disorder of college students feel depressed the stereotype than students strong psychological clinic.(6)through the Ground Theory data analysis methods found that depressive disorder students stigma formation process,it can divided five stages:self-awareness of depressive disorder;public awarenessof depressivedisorder;self-stigma internalization;stigma caused damage and the repair stage.
