Notes On The Records In Beili

The Records in Beili,the earliest notes novel,focus on prostitute.This book describe the communication between prostitutes and scholars,and the daily life of prostitutes in the period of emperor Xizong of Tang and emperor Yizong of Tang.Because of the written time of the book is too early and lack of spreading,the book could be wrong in characters.Because of the highly of historical value and collate value and the lack of the good edition,I will notes on TheRecords in Beili in the research,on the basement of collations of good editions,in order to provide the good edition which close to the original edition for later scholars.I will also discuss the controversial events,such as the author of thebook,the provenance of inscription and appendix,and put forward the new views depend on the previous researches.In the other parts of notes,in order to prominent the value of research,I will analyzing the questions of the value of poems in this book,the relations between prostitutes and scholars and the literary value of the book.This article is mainly make up of 4 aspects,the introduction mainly include literature review,the value of topic selection and the research of editions and record in directory.In the first part,I will put forward the views on some controversy questions.In the second part,I will analyze the value and significance of the book comprehensively.In the third part,the core part of the whole article,provide the notes and annotation of The Records in Beili for readers.In a word,scholars has a full cognition of the historical value of the book,but lack of the cognition of its philology value.The book has many editions of series collectio ns,which are easy to choose and use.But the mistakes from the edition without notes will limited the reflection of its value.My research forcus on the basic literature,through compare and collate with different editions,to choose a good edition.I will try my best to take on a edition more accuracy and prefect,it will provide convenience for the further researches.
