Since the 21th century,springing up of novels which reflect the college intellectuals have been a nonnegligible phenomenon.This paper taking three representative full-length novels which are Zhang Zhe's Pupils,Yan Lianke's Elegant prise,Yan Zhen's Above living as main research object,and involving other relevant works,to analyze college intellectuals whose different spiritual direction in social change,then to explore the figures whose feature and meaning.This paper consists of five parts which are introduction,the body of a total of three components and peroration.Introduction include the origin and significance of the research,research summary,research approach and main way,and the definition of the main terms.The first part of the body taking Shao Jingwen in Pupils for example,to mainly analyze his moral decline and annihilation of spiritual values behind pursuing the survival principle of exquisite self-interest.Part two taking Yang Ke in Elegant prise for example,to dissect his a variety of failure being resulted from his weak character trait,and his floating soul by the show his keeping away from reality.Part three analyzing Nie Zhiyuan in Above living,to reveal his tragic reality struggling between existence and conscience.These three typical characters representing contemporary college intellectuals different choice of life and value orientation,not only reflects the personality of the character,but also includes their contemporaneity and social commonality.Peroration expound shortly three novels that grasp the extent of the character's psychology,and college novels' defects in character creation.
