Zong Pu is an intellectual female writer.She has long been engaged in writing and studying Chinese and western culture.Unlike other female writers,she never advocates feminism,and always maintains a clear writing position and writes intellectuals' spiritual history.In the 1950 s,Zong Pu published her short story "Red Bean",which became famous in the literary world.After the resurrection in the late1970 s,she created a large number of well-known short and medium-sized novels.She still worked hard in the new century and completed the four-part novel of "the introduction of wild gourd".Zong Pu is a writer with continuous creative vitality.Her works are almost exclusively focused on intellectuals.What is more commendable is that she has always maintained a consistently elegant writing style for her literary creation during her long writing career.The study of Zong Pu's novels in this thesis starts from three aspects as follow:the presentation of Zong Pu's novel to the intellectuals' world,highlighting the elegant artistic style,and the cause of the originality of content and style in Zong Pu's novel.The first chapter is to stick to the "obsession" of intellectuals.This chapter begins with the content and theme of Zong Pu's novels,and studies her dedication to the world of intellectuals and the originality of intellectuals in her novels.In Zong Pu's novels,which expressed prominently are the personality of intellectuals,the love life of noble purity,and the situation of existence in different historical periods.The second chapter is to highlight the elegant artistic style.This chapter explores the consistent elegant artistic style of Zong Pu's novels.Which is mainly manifested in three aspects: elegant and simple novel language style,aesthetic realist writing style and euphemistic changing narrative style.The third chapter is the cause of the originality of Zong Pu's novels.This chapter mainly studies the stereotypes of Zong Pu's novels on the intellectuals' world and the reasons for the formation of elegant art styles from four aspects: Zong Pu's family history,environment of academy and her family,combination of Chinese and Western literary concepts,and open-minded life attitude.Due to her unique growing environment and the combination of Chinese and Western scholarship,Zong Pu wrote history,family and country,and intellectuals' growth in a beautiful and elegant style.Her novels perfectly combine the rigidity of content with the flexibility of writing techniques.Therefore,her novels are unique in history of literature and full of research value.
