In recent years,North American projects in China are increasing.CET Chinese academic programs are one of the North American projects in China.The project was established in 1982 and now has project organizations in Beijing,Harbin,Hangzhou and Kunming.CET Chinese language teaching courses can be classified into large class classes,small class classes,discussion classes,and one-to-one classes.One-to-one classes are also single classes.The large class class mainly explains the language knowledge in the text,the small class class focuses on the drill,and the discussion class and the single class class focus on improving the oral communication ability.The focus of this study is on the discussion class of 400 senior classes in the 2017 Summer CET Kunming Project.The discussion class is a kind of teaching activity that is used in the advanced stage of Chinese learning and is also a kind of curriculum setting.The discussion class broke the drawbacks of the traditional teacher's “full house irrigation”,allowing students to truly master their own classrooms and express their own opinions.This paper elaborates the process of discussion class based on the theoretical basis of the scaffolding teaching of constructivist learning theory,the theory of recent development area,and the theory of intelligibility input.Combined with the practical experience gained by the author in the2017 CET Kunming project,through the author's serious thoughts and summaries,a detailed analysis and study of the advanced class discussion class was conducted.This article is divided into four chapters,first introduced the related research of the Matilda model and the study of related discussion classes.Then it introduced in detail the related situations of teaching,management and extracurricular activities in the CET Kunming project and the general situation of the advanced class discussion class.The third chapter is the focus of this article,mainly analyzes the main teaching mode of CET discussion class.This includes a detailed analysis of the steps in the discussion class for the CET Advanced Class.In this chapter,the author first made a lot of summarydescriptions of the preparations for the discussion class.For example,the selection criteria of the topic,the category of the topic,the division of the group,the decision of the form,the seat setting,the role of the teacher,the principle of error correction,and the like.Next,the process of each form of discussion class was described in detail during the discussion class.Finally,the author combined the opinions of students and teachers to summarize the effect of the discussion class.
