This report aims to study how the author finishes his translation ofA Necessary End,a crime novel written by Peter Robinson, within the framework of the Eco-Translatology theory, including pre-translating,during translating and post-translating.With the prosperity of world culture, translation of foreign literature plays an important role in our country to expand opening up to the outside world and overseas exchange. Not only can people from different countries and regions understand each other better, but it may improve the public literary attainment.A Necessary End describes how a Constable Gill was stabbed to death in the conflict between citizens and policemen, and the investigative process. The novel?s plot goes ups and downs, showing clear and well-knit structure. Therefore, this novel deserves to be translated and studied further. The translation report states how the author finishes his task.First, the author read the source text and the parallel texts,he also read a list of Chinese crime novels to create more accurate and authentic translation. Before translation, the author analyzed the language style of the source text through Wordsmith. The author chose Multi-dimensional Transformations in Eco-Translatology theory to guide his translation. The Multi-dimensional Transformations are important translation theory and method.Based on his own translation practice, the author attached more importance to cultural connotation, communicative intention and aesthetic aspects instead of uni-dimensional translation. In this report, the author studied how to apply the Multi-dimensional Transformations to his translation, discusseddifficulties and translation strategies. The report summarizes its findings and confesses its limitations. It leads to the conclusion that when the translator gives full play to the translators' subjectivity to make the multidimensional adaptive selection on different levels and aspects under the guidance of Multi-dimensional Transformations, can the best translation of highest degree of holistic adaptation and selection be obtained.Owing to the limited time and energy, the author just takes the most typical translation as examples and leaves other texts untouched. Therefore,to some extent, this thesis may have limitations and defects.
