| This report explores the translation of Animals Erased: Discourse,Ecology,and Reconnection with the Natural World under the guidance of text typology theory.According to Reiss‘s text typology theory,texts can be divided into informative texts,expressive texts and operative texts(1989: 109).With the main language function of informing readers of ecolinguistic concepts,Animals Erased belongs to informative texts.Difficulties of academic translation at the lexical level,syntactical level and textual level,and corresponding translation strategies would be summarized in this report.This report reveals that while translating academic texts,in order to fulfill academic texts‘ language function of transmitting information,target readers‘ needs should be focused.As a result,translators should adopt translation strategies of conversion,combination and division flexibly based on target readers‘ reading habits. |
