In the new century, the latest generation of Internet information technologies such as cloud calculation.Internet of Things and Big Data have achieved remarkable breakthroughs and have been increasingly integrated with manufacturing industry in a profound way.Against such a backdrop, global technological innovation has presented novel trends and features. Some topics like smart manufacturing, agile manufacturing, automation and Industry 4.0 have become hotspots of manufacturing industry. The author implemented simulating consecutive interpreting for Automation and Industry 4.0 Summit of 2016 HxGN Live and wrote the report based on analysis and reflection of this practice. In the interpreting practice, interpreters are usually easy to make mistakes due to cognitive overload in some links resulting from improper effort distribution. Therefore this report mainly deals with the issue how interpreters can make proper effort distribution to handle multiple tasks including listening and analysis, memorization, production and coordination in a very short time so as to ensure smooth interpretation. The report first briefly illustrates the background of the summit and then makes an introduction of preparations for interpretation.Next, based on Gile's Effort Model theory, the author analyzes all kinds of possible problem triggers, such as highly specialized content, intensive objective information and fragmented sentences and thus accordingly, the author proposes, from linguistic and nonlinguistic perspectives, effective and practical coping strategies, aiming to provide useful guidance and imperatives for future interpreting practice. And the final part is the summary of the practice.
