Along with the development of interpreting industry and increasing attention goes to interpretation learning and the industry and a great number of scholars no matter at home and abroad have conducted a large number of researches and explorations on interpretation.Yet plenty of theoretical achievements as well as practical experience have been obtained. In this thesis, the author have tried to conduct an objective and detailed study of problem triggers in consecutive interpretation via applying the effort model to analyze the phenomena in the interpreting practices. In the thesis, the author mainly focuses on the problem triggers(such as accents, number and terms)met by student interpreters,in other words, beginners instead of experienced professionals. The interpreting theory the author adopted is the effort model which are cited much more frequently in the circle of interpreting. And then the author chooses the materials of the provincial section of All China Interpreting Contest as research materials and randomly chooses three interpreting versions of competitors to compare and make analysis under the perspective of the effort model. Finally, according to the analysis made by the author, she offers some coping strategies for the problem triggers and some suggestions for training so as to help interpreters improve their available processing capacity and calmly cope with the problem triggers, and hider the problem triggers from triggering problems in on-line interpreting. In the thesis, the author adopted corpus study on three different interpreting versions to analyze problem triggers and according to the analysis, the author offer coping strategies to hinder this kind of problem trigger triggering problem successfully in on-line interpreting. As for the materials selected in this thesis, they are the materials of the provincial section of All China Interpreting Contest. The contest is one of models in Chinese interpreting contests, whose materials attach closely with the reality and are able to comprehensively exam competitors` qualities as interpreters. And the competitors are the best students among the interpreting students in their own graduate schools. Therefore, such analysis and comparison to their interpreting versions are of great significance for guiding students how to learn interpretation and how to better cope with problem triggers in on-line interpreting and providing teachers with some references to teach coping strategies for problem triggers. As for the theoretical significance, the effort model whose major researchesare on simultaneous interpretation, very few of them are on consecutive interpretation. Therefore, the thesis maybe contribute some effort to develop the effort model for consecutive interpreting and its researches.
