According to the meanings of verbs in Modern Chinese Dictionary(7th edition),we selected 492 pairs of monosyllabic and disyllabic verbs with the same morpheme from The Graded Chinese Syllables,Characters and Words for the Application of Teaching Chinese to the Speakers of Other Languages,And we summarized them in terms of their form and meaning.Referring to the classifications of the synonym forest(2nd edition)edited by Mei Jiaju and the new synonym forest edited by Zheng Shiyong,we also got 19 pairs of Verbs of Change in monosyllabic and disyllabic verbs with the same morpheme. We distinguished and analyzed 19 pairs of verbs by referring to Chinese verb usage dictionary, interpretation of modern Chinese verbs, learn Chinese synonyms dictionary and other reference books. At the same time,we summarized these differences based on examples from the BCC corpus. We analyzed these 19 pairs of verbs from three aspects which is the lexical meaning of verbs, verb forms and syntax function. And what we found is that there were some differences in whether or not 19 pairs of verbs with object, with what kind of complement, can they overlap and so on.We tried to explain these differences, and found that these differences are consistent with Valency Theory of verb,Chinese prosody theory and other theories.According to these differences,we put forward some suggestions for teaching, which are attaching importance to the characteristics of verbs, pay attention to contrastive analysis, attach importance to collocation and combination between words, teaching in context.
