Communication About The Chinese Mainland's Anniversary Of Historical Celebrities'Birth In Taiwan's Public Opinion Field

Sun Yat-sen is an influential historic figure to both Chinese Mainland and Taiwan.Since 1949,every anniversary of Sun Yat-sen's birthday has been celebrated in Chinese Mainland.As for every ten-year's anniversary,the gathering to commemorate is especially grand.The phenomenon is not only in Chinese Mainland but also in Taiwan.The communication from Chinese Mainland to Taiwan is a special cross public opinion field.The object of this study is the communication of Sun Yat-sen's birthday anniversary in Taiwan's public opinion field,focus on the communication of the anniversary of Sun Yat-sen'birth in Taiwan.James Carey's ritual communication theory divides communication into two kinds:One is the simple transmission of information,which is called“a transmission view of communication”.The other one is characterized by gathering on the spot,paying close attention and sharing together.It is called "a ritual view of communication”.The anniversary of historical celebrity is a ceremony itself.Anniversary can only achieve the transmission rather ritual communication always.Is the communication about Chinese Mainland's anniversary of Sun Yat-sen' birth a rural communication in Taiwan's Public Opinion Field?In this study,a variety of methods were used:Firstly,according to the chronological sequence of historical facts,using historical research to review the newspaper every ten-year's anniversary of Sun Yat-sen's birthday from 1956 to 2016.Secondly,using content analysis to analyze the newspaper every ten-year's anniversary of Sun Yat-sen's birthday from 1956 to 2016 to judge if it is a rural communication.Thirdly,using text analysis to classify and analyze the relevant issues,to understand the controversies,divergences and sharing about related issues from various perspectives.Lastly,using Taiwan Yilan Database to grab big data,to judge if it is also a rural communication in Taiwan online Public Opinion Field.The results showed that Chinese Mainland's anniversary of Sun Yat-sen'birth is rural communication in Taiwan's public opinion field.A similarity community with common history,common issues and shared objects has been formed in Taiwan's Public Opinion Field.The Chinese Mainland's anniversary of historical celebrities'birth in Taiwan public opinion holds the characteristics of caring presence,different tunes participating and disputed sharing.
