A Study On The Japanese Auxiliary Verb "-tsutsuar-"

The meaning and usage of modern Japanese auxiliary verb-tsutsuar-as the subject of this thesis are analyzed thoroughly.The aim of this research is to investigate a correspondence expression in Chinese.This research is using the Balanced Corpus of Contemporary Written Japanese collecting the data and examining the meaning.Antecedent verbs of-tsutsuar-are selected and analyzed?we analyzed its characteristics and based on it.We collected the corresponding Chinese expression,and considered the characteristics.We analyzed and clarified the meaning of the semantic characteristics of-tsutsuar-by comparing it with related forms.The meaning of-tsutsuar-is roughly divided into "Prospective Aspect" and "Prospective Aspect".There are three types of meanings of-tsutsuar,which are progress of change,prospective achievement of change and progress of movement start.And derivational meaning is repetition.Antecedent verbs of-tsutsuar-are roughly divided into "telic verb" and "atelic verb".And we analyzed them.When the absolute telic verb co-occurs with-tsutsuar-,there are two meanings,the verb is progressing toward its terminal point and the meaning immediately before the telicity is achieved.When the relative telic verb co-occurs with-tsutsuar-,it means that a change is in progress.When the action verb co-occurs with-tsutsuar-,it means the action is in progress.When added to the external telicity,it means prospective achievement of change.When the thinking verb with strong movement co-occurs with-tsutsuar-,it means the progress of the action.When it co-occurs with the thinking verb with strong state,it means to describe the state at the time.When it co-occurs with the perception verb,sensory verb and emotional verb,it means the feeling on subjective.And-tsutsuar-can not consistent with the time indication which indicates a long time zone.lt is difficult to connect onomatopoeia with-tsutsuar-.When analyzing the-tsutsuar-counterpart expressions in Chinese with the meaning of "Prospective Aspect",the corresponding expressions in Chinese have strong tendency to respond to "zhengzai","zheng","zai","zhe","zhong","jixu","yanxu".and it collocates with modifiers like "zhujian","jianjian","zhubu","riyin,"riqu" etc which express speed of change or progress of change.When the telic verb co-occurs with-tsutsuar-,it is translated as adverbs like "zhujian",jianjian","riyi","yuelaiyue","buduan"etc.However,When the atelic verb co-occurs with-tsutsuar-.it can not be translated in adverb or verb.When it means"Prospective Aspect",the corresponding Chinese are "jiang","jijiang" and "kuai".When it means "Irrealis",it is translated as "le","dao" and "yi V wanbi".
