On The Interpreting Strategies Of The Expressions Of Chinese Characteristics-A Report Of The Simulated Interpretation Of 2018 Premier Li Keqiang's Press Conference

“The Prime Minister's Press Conference" is a meeting where the Prime Minister answer the Chinese and foreign journalists' questions after the "two sessions" each year,namely National People's Congress and Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference.This year is the sixth year that Premier Li Keqiang has answered journalists since he took office as Premier of the State Council.Looking back the press conferences of these years,expressions by the Prime Li Keqiang are usually lively with more Chinese characteristics,such as Chinese characteristics words,rhetoric,poems,allusions and so on.Therefore,studying the interpreting strategies of Chinese vocabulary in the "two sessions" contributes to the enhancement of the interpretation quality work of foreign publicity and transmission the voice of China to the world.This simulated consecutive practice report regards "2018 Premier Li Keqiang's Press Conference"as the research object.The author carries out the practice of simulated interpretation under the guidance of translation as adaption and selection theory.The theoretical basis of this paper is translation as adaption and selection theory.It explores the translator's subjective position in the translational ecological environment and emphasizes the translator's initiative in the translation activities,and explains the process of translation adaptation and selection from the ecological point of view.It should be carried out in terms of linguistic dimension,cultural dimension,and communicative dimension.Taking the on-site speaking materials that Premier Li Keqiang answered jourmalists in 2018 as an example,the author explores the interpretation strategies of expression with Chinese characteristics from the perspectives of linguistic,cultural and communicative dimensions,summarizes his own and official interpreter Zhang Lu's version so as to expound the guidance of translation as adaption and selection theory in interpretation practice.At the same time,the author hopes that this practical report can provide some ideas for better conveying the expression of Chinese characteristics to the world.
