In 1950,Inoue Yasushi published the novel Lacquer Hu Juan on the theme of Chinese history in New Trend magazine, which was also Inoue Yasushi's first short story about the Western Regions of China.Afterwards,Inoue published a series of novels set in the Western Regions. This paper takes Inoue Yasushi's historical novels in the Western Regions as the research object.Five works,Lacquer Hu Juan,Foreigners,Loulan,Dunhuang and Flood, are selected from the ten works of The Collection of Western Regions Novels,in order to explore the commonalities among these five works.Among the other five works of The Collection of Fictions of the Western Regions, two are "Tears of Monks' Xinghe" and "Ou of the Balance" centered on Chang'an City(Xi'an),the capital of the Tang Dynasty, and the other two are "Wol f Disaster" and "Coyote" with the story background of Xinjiang and Mongolia in the border area of China, and the other one is "Fengtao"with tho story background of the Korean Peninsula. Therefore, what can really be called the western region novel is the above five works:Lacquer Hu Juan,Foreigners,Loulan,Dunhuang and Flood. This paper mainly studies from three aspects.First of all,the author investigates Inoue Yasushi's yearning for and growing experience in Western China when he was a child. When Inoue was four years old,he was moved to work due to his father's job changes, and he was sent to live next to his great-grandfather,Inoue's concubine,Kanai.Inoue Yasushi once turned this unrelated kinship into an "alliance relationship".Inoue Yasushi, who spent his childhood in such an environment, developed the habit of keeping calm and observing things around him objectively from an early age. This point is of great importance to the future creation of historical novels in the Western Regions.Next,it explores the relationship between the writer's dream of the Western Regions and the novel of the Western Regions. As the first historical novel "Lacquer Hu Juan" can be said to be the beginning of the writer's dream of the Western Regions. The al ien is the formation of the dream. The publicat ion of Loulan has become the core of the dream, and Dunhuang is the most prosperous expression of the dream,By the completion of "Flood" the work implies the end of the dream. Finally,it explores the commonalities between the Western Regions novels.Inoue Yasushi has created independent novels with the same themes. What similarities do these works have in terms of description, characters and Chinese images, etc.,will be described in detail in this part.Through this study,we hope to draw the following conclusions.Firstly,Inoue Yasushi's novels in the Western Regions adopt the chronological creation method and add reasonable imagination on the basis of history to create the Western Regions novels, which can be said to add the imagination close to history to the gap in the history of the Western Regions.Secondly, the tragic fate of the hero can be seen in the exotic man and the flood, the lacquer-hu-yun and Loulan, which depict the hero's image, the artifacts and the fate of the country,or Dunhuang, which represents the writer's dream of the Western Regions.Thirdly, because of the reasons of communication in the history of China and Japan and the influence of the social background of writers'lives, the Japanese represented by writers in the Western Regions novels hold a contradictory view t.owards China. That is to say,on the one hand, they worshipped the ancient Chinese culture and knowledge,on the other hand, they held contempt for the defeated China in the context of that time.
