Research On Sports And Related Issues In Tang Dynasty As Seen In All Tang Poems

Tang Dynasty is a strong country with unprecedented political,economic,military and cultural heights.Tang poetry is a pearl of the Tang Dynasty.The poems of the whole Tang Dynasty,totaling 900 volumes,contain more than 50,000 poems by more than 2,000 poets in the Tang Dynasty.The poems are vast,profound and varied in content.They show all aspects of life in the Tang Dynasty and are important evidence reflecting social life at that time.In the poems of the whole Tang Dynasty,a lot of sports are described.People take part in sports to strengthen their health,cheer their body and mind,and cultivate their sentiments.The thorough excavation of "All Tang Poems" is conducive to expanding the new perspective of sports culture research,combining sports with literature and history,and better showing the era of sports life of Tang people.This paper uses the methods of mutual evidence,circumstantial evidence,historical comparative analysis and logical analysis,and combines the relevant historical data to compile all the poems about sports in Quan Tang Poetry.According to the different characteristics of different events,these poems are divided into four categories,namely,hundred opera,competitive,martial arts and leisure.Hundred Opera is the general name of acrobatics performance in ancient music and dance.There are 92 poems.The representative items include Zhezhi dance,feather dress dance,hunting for rain,rope walking and so on.Competitive sports refers to a kind of sports activity process which aims at climbing the peak of sports technology and creating excellent sports achievements on the basis of developing the body in an all-round way and maximizing the potential of human beings(individuals or groups)in physical,psychological and intellectual aspects.Here,competitive sports refer to the fierce confrontation,mainly physical,intellectual,technical,psychological and other abilities,a total of 154 poems,the representative items are chess,bowling,pitching,ferry,tug-of-war and other projects.Wushu takes fighting as its main content,routines and fighting as its main form of sports.There are 286 poems in total.The representative items are archery,fencing,knife and so on.Leisure sport refers to a sport that is beneficial to physical and mental health,based on personal hobbies and aimed at relaxation and recreation.There are 543 poems.The representative items are climbing,traveling,fishing,cockfighting,bamboo horse,swing,beating the soil,fighting hundred weeds,putting paper kites and so on.The sports culture of Tang Dynasty showed the characteristics of competition,martial arts,openness and innovation.The sports culture in Tang Dynasty was divided by the Anshi Rebellion,which changed remarkably before and after.The sport spirit of the scholar-bureaucrats has changed from positive and upward in the early period to extravagant and extravagant in the later period.Female sports activities have gradually declined from vigorous development.The competitiveness of sports in Tang Dynasty was at its peak in all dynasties of history.Polo,corner crossing,race crossing and tug-of-war have developed greatly,which can be regarded as the peak of ancient competitive sports.Since the Song Dynasty,many competitive sports have gradually become artistic and performing,and their competitiveness has weakened and their entertainment has strengthened.
