With the comprehensive promotion of English revolution,the English educational level in China has developed greatly,which,at the same time,puts forward to higher requirements for current college English teaching.College English learning involves all majors,whereas,music?PE and art majors are special among all.College students majoring in music?PE?and art have much lower English enrollment scores than others,for their English levels are much lower than the average.As a result,English classes for the three special majors are less active and it is always difficult in carrying on the classroom activities.Even some of the students sleep,chat with one another,or play with phones in the class.On this occasion,teachers are reluctant to teach the students majoring in the three special majors;on the other hand,the special-major students are not interested in English classes.The current situation causes the outstanding talents in music,PE and art to miss further education for higher degrees.In addition,this current situation is not likely to fulfill the talents cultivation goals of higher education in china.Based on the teaching methods of PBL,this paper constructs a teaching method that is more pertinence and more suitable for the Music,PE and Fine Arts majors.It applies the knowledge of problem-learning teaching method flexibly to the classroom teaching of Music,PE and Fine Arts majors.The aim is to improve the teaching quality in the English class of Music,PE and Fine Arts majors as well as students'interest in learning,and finally to promote students' comprehensive ability of learning English.In this paper,a series of methods are selected,such as questionnaire,interview,experiment,and test and data analysis.After sorting out of literatures and materials,the author carries out in-depth analysis of relevant literature and achieves a thorough understanding of the research status quo of the subject.In addition,from the perspective of theories,the paper sets forth the feasibility of implementing problem-learning teaching method into college English teaching of Music,PE and Fine Arts majors.Two classes taught by the author were chosen to conduct a comparative experiment by using the problem-learning teaching method.In the process,students' interest in English,abilities and scores are recorded and the whole teaching procedures are traced.At the end of the semester,tests are given to the two classes to compare the difference in their final test scores.Furthermore,questionnaires and interviews are done for the purpose of gathering the students'subjective evaluation for the problem-learning teaching method.Finally,the conclusion is drawn,and the enlightenment that the experiment may offer to current English teaching of Music,PE and Fine Arts majors.
