Study On Dong Zhongshu's Interpretation Of Spring And Autumn

The article Study of Dong Zhongshu's interpretation on Luxuriant Dew of the Spring and Autumn Annals(Chunqiu Fanlu)mainly explores two key problems.One is Dong Zhongshu's concept of Spring and Autumn;the other is his interpretation of the content and characteristics of Spring and Autumn.Dong Zhongshu paid supreme tribute to annotations to Gongyang's Spring and Autumn view,but his theory has the elements of Zuo's Commentary and Gu Liang's Commentary.Dong Zhongshu's greatest characteristic of Spring and Autumn is that the content of his commentary to the Empire contained the thought of Yin and yang.In addition,he suggested a series of approaches of studying Spring and Autumn.Besides Introduction and Conclusion part,the paper mainly includes the following four parts:The first chapter of the article mainly introduces Dong Zhongshu's works related to Spring and Autumn.The second chapter explores Dong Zhongshu's concept of Spring and Autumn on the basis of the concept of Spring and Autumn in the historical prose and the prose of the scholars in the pre-Qin period.It is found that the Concept of Spring and Autumn drafted by Confucius and the other Spring and Autumn concept coexist,and Zuo Zhuan is often regarded as Spring and Autumn in historical records.From the constituting of Spring and Autumn,the author probes into Dong Zhongshu's concept of Spring and Autumn from two aspects of Luxuriant Dew of the Spring and Autumn Annals(Chunqiu Fanlu)and Zuo Zhuan,learning that Dong Zhongshu's Spring and Autumn refers to Spring and Autumn Annals Commentary by Gongyang Gao.And also,Dong Zhongshu's theory has influenced by Zuo's Commentary and Gu Liang's Commentary.The third chapter analyzed the contents and characteristics of Spring and Autumn from the perspective of Yin-Yang and Five Elements from 3 aspects.First is about the view of principal & flexibility and criminal virtue.Second is the relationship between the Empire and courtiers,as well as the Empire and People.Third is about natural calamities and unusual natural phenomena.Introducing Yin and Yang thought to explain Spring and Autumn is Dong Zhongshu's unique personal characteristics of the interpretation of Spring and Autumn,and also his theoretical basis of persuading the Empire to implement policy of benevolence.The fourth chapter focuses on the approaches of studying of Spring and Autumn revealed by Dong Zhongshu,including interpretation of classics by question and answer,five words approach and the method of explanation.Dong Zhongshu's explanation has the deficiency of expressing his own meaning,sympathies and light exegesis of words,but his suggestion and method are an important reference for those who learn Spring and Autumn afterwards.Finally,on the basis of analyzing Dong Zhongshu's explanation of Spring and Autumn,the paper makes an overall evaluation of Dong Zhongshu's study.Althrough Dong Zhongshu's original intention of interpreting Spring and Autumn from the perspective of Yin and Yang is caring for the People,but the result is in vain.
