Whether peer conflict can play a positive role depends on the conflict resolution strategies adopted by children.Previous studies have shown that the conflict resolution strategies adopted by children affect the quality of peer communication and social adaptation of children,so it is very necessary to make a comprehensive and in-depth study of peer conflict resolution strategies. The conflict resolution strategies adopted by children are influenced by many factors.According to the existing literature, the main influencing factors of peer conflict resolution strategy focused on some internal factors such as temperament, attribution style and sense of humor as well as some external factors such as family upbringing, peer status and so on.But there is no research on emotional intelligence, which is an important internal factor. And there are few studies on the relationship between self-control ability and peer conflict resolution strategies.Therefore,326 children aged 3-6years old from 4 kindergartens in Gansu Province were studied. In this study, the situation and relationship of children's emotional intelligence,self-control ability and peer conflict resolution strategies were studied by the methods of hypothetical story situation and questionnaire,in order to provide some guidance for improving children's peer conflict resolution ability. The findings are as follows:The development of children's emotional intelligence is above the average level. There are significant age and gender differences in children's emotional intelligence:The level of children's emotional intelligence increases with age;girls' ability to express and evaluate their emotions and the ability to control themselves and others' emotions is higher than that of boys; And there was no significant difference in emotional intelligence development between only-child and non-only-child.Children's self-control ability is at the general development level; And there are significant differences in children's self-control ability in terms of age and gender.Specifically, with the growth of age, children's self-control ability level is also improving, and the development level of girls' self-control ability is significantly higher than that of boys. The level of self-control development of only-child and non-only-child is generally consistent. In general, the strategies used by children are mainly those of complaining for help, ignoring and avoiding, indicating that their peer conflict resolution ability needs to be improved. With the increase of age,the conflict resolution strategies adopted by children become more mature. On the whole, girls are better at conflict resolution than boys; And there was no significant difference in the peer conflict resolution strategies between the only-child and the non-only-child.There was a significant negative correlation between children's emotional intelligence and negative strategies, and a significant positive correlation between children's emotional intelligence and positive strategies. In addition, there is a negative correlation between children's emotional ability to express and evaluate their own and others' emotions, regulate and control their own and others' emotions and neutral strategies.Children's self-control ability was negatively correlated with negative strategies, but positively correlated with positive strategies.Self-control ability and emotional intelligence were positively correlated, indicating that the higher the level of self-control ability, the higher the level of emotional intelligence.Children's emotional intelligence and self-control ability can predict peer conflict resolution strategies.Children with different levels of emotional intelligence have differences in the maturity of conflict resolution strategies: children with high emotional intelligence have high maturity of conflict resolution strategies, while children with low emotional intelligence have the opposite.Children with different levels of self-control differ in the maturity of conflict resolution strategies:children with high levels of self-control adopt more mature conflict resolution strategies, while children with low levels of self-control do not.
