The ability to resolve interpersonal conflicts,especially the ability to resolve conflicts among peers,which is a core component of social communication skills in early childhood.Research have shown that the resolution of peer conflict has profound significance for the quality of peer relationships and social development of children.The resolution to children's peer conflict is related to their solving strategies,while children's conflict resolution strategy is influenced by many factors.Scholars both at home and abroad have investigated the influence of internal factors related to the psychological development of children,such as temperament type,self-control ability,intelligence level and their impact on conflict resolution strategy.Emotion comprehension,as an important internal factor in the psychological development of preschool children,has not been noticed,and the early childhood period is a time when emotion comprehension develops more rapidly.Therefore,this paper studies how children's emotion comprehension affects peer conflict resolution strategy.This study used test methods and situational interviews to examine the emotion comprehension ability of 128 children aged 4-6 years in four kindergartens in Henan Province and the resolution strategy under different conflict scenarios.It also focuses on the influence of emotion comprehension ability on peer conflict resolution strategy.Research results are presented as follows:1.In emotion comprehension:4-6 years old children's emotion comprehension ability at a low level overall.There is a significant difference in emotion comprehension in the area,but there is no significant difference between class and gender.2.On peer conflict resolution strategy:(1)4-6 years old children generally prefers adherence strategy and less use of avoidance strategy in the use of number of peer conflict resolution strategy.In terms of age,the frequency of problem solving strategy increases with age;In terms of gender,there is no significant difference in the number of peer conflict resolution strategy;In urban and rural areas,rural children tend to use avoidance strategy to solve conflicts.(2)Under different conflict scenarios,there are differences in conflict resolution strategies adopted by preschool children.In the face of conflict problems,the strategies of children in senior classes are more positive than those in middle;girls' conflict resolution strategy is more positive than boys.3.The influence of emotion comprehension ability on peer conflict resolution strategy:(1)There is a significant correlation between children's emotion comprehension ability and conflict resolution strategy: the higher the emotion comprehension ability of preschool children,the more positive strategies and neutral strategies are used,and the less negative strategies are used.(2)There is a significant correlation between child emotion comprehension subtasks and peer conflict resolution strategy: the better the child's emotion regulation task is,the more positive and neutral strategies are used,and the less negative strategies are used.(3)There is a significant correlation between the emotion comprehension ability of preschool children and the number of peer conflict resolution strategy: the development of emotion comprehension is better,when facing conflict situations,the frequency of problem solving strategy and persistence strategy is high,and the frequency of compromise strategy is low.(4)Emotion comprehension ability can positively predict the positive degree of conflict resolution strategy,the use of neutral strategies has significantly positive predictive effect and a negative predictive effect on the use of negative strategies.(5)Preschool children with different levels of emotion comprehension have differences in the positive degree of conflict resolution strategy: children with high level of emotion comprehension ability have a high degree of conflict resolution strategy,positive strategies and neutral strategies are mostly adopted,while negative strategies are less used.At the end of the paper,according to the research results,the researchers try to put forward the following educational suggestions :(1)We should give full consideration to the development characteristics of children's emotion comprehension ability,and carry out targeted education;(2)Create a safe atmosphere for conflict resolution and encourage preschool children to resolve conflicts independently;(3)We should improve children's emotion comprehension ability and adopt correct strategies to resolve conflicts.
