This translation report is based on Chapter 9 of Making the Modern Criminal Law.This book is a legal work published by Oxford University Press in 2016.It describes the development of modern criminal law in the United Kingdom historically and conceptually,and expands it to the common law jurisdictions around the world.And it also provides a historical perspective on the development of criminal law theory.Based on this,the author summarizes the translation techniques of translating the attributive clauses in legal texts.Firstly,the author gives a brief introduction to the background,translation process,significance and structure of the translation report,so that readers can have a basic understanding of the translation material.Secondly,the author introduces the definition,classification and characteristics of the attributive clauses in legal texts.Then,the author focuses on the translation of the attributive clauses in legal texts.By citing a large number of examples,this paper discusses the translation techniques of the attributive clauses in legal texts including fronting,repetition and conversion,hoping to sum up some experience in translating those attributive clauses.At last,the author summarizes the whole translation report and puts forward some problems to be solved.
