This is a translation project report on Clean Protein: The Revolution That Will Reshape Your Body,Boost Your Energy—and Save Our Planet,co-edited by Kathy Freston and Bruce Friedrich. The report is an excerpt from the Chapter 11 and 12,focusing on the significant importance of clean protein in daily life.Daily recipes for making clean proteins is also been particularized in the two chapters. This paper is guided by Eugene Nida's functional equivalence theory. The translation and the original text ought to first pursue semantic equivalence, and then formal equivalence,so as to the target readers can better understand the original text and produce a better reader response. Therefore, according to this theory, more emphasis is placed on the equivalence of translation content rather than the consistency of form. For the translation of culture-loaded words, the translator adopts corresponding and conversion as translation method. For the polysemy, diction and extension is adopted. Finally, the translator hopes to have a deeper understanding of protein cleaning through this translation project, which is also a rare training opportunity for the translator himself.
