The 1980s was a period of significant cultural transformation for Tibet,in which the previous ways of life were completely changed.Since then,the agricultural civilization of the Tibetans,which was mainly based on experiences,common senses and customs,began to move towards a modern civilization that emphasizes rationality and scientific knowledge.By doing so,free verse became popular in Tibetan areas and became one of the most important literary forms to express new thoughts,as well as other literary styles such as novels.In addition to the special charm of poetry itself,it has made remarkable contributions to social development,cultural prosperity and national unity and development.This paper consists five main parts.The first part,analyzes the ideology of Tibetan free verse in the 1980s,by firmly grasping the awakening of national consciousness and individual consciousness,and explains that the 1980s is a special period of great significance in the development of Tibetan culture.The second and third parts,analyze the changes on media platforms and awareness of the new verse readers,the public acceptance of free verse,literary accomplishments,debates on old and new verses,and also briefly introduce the acceptance of Tibetan free verse in the 1980s and its new literary accomplishment.The fourth part discusses the development potential of free verse for Tibetan culture and literature.The cultural and artistic value of Tibetan free verse is mainly evaluated by the free verse creation situation and its social benefits.The fifth part talks about the ideological content and artistic style of free verse in the 1980s.It shows that the development course of Tibetan modern and contemporary literature and new verse is determined by the ideological and moral quality and artistic appreciation level of the literary workers.
