The text of this translation report is selected from the fourth chapter of Crowdsourcing and Online Collaborative Translations by Miguel A.Jiménez-Crespo.In ten chapters, the book discusses the emerging translation study and practice, that is,crowdsourcing and online collaborative translation, including the definition and types of crowdsourcing and collaborative translation, its emergence and development, industrial recognition, translation study, and its influence on business society, etc. The report aims to furthering the understanding of significance, flexibility of quality and quality assurance measures in different contexts by the translation of the fifth chapter. As the book is an informative text, the translator, with the guidance of Eugene Nida's functional equivalence theory, tries to render the same effect on targeted readers as that of the original text would have on the original receptors. Therefore, the translation should be plain, easy and natural to understand in terms of functional equivalence. The report highlights the difficulties and key points in the translation process and corresponding solutions, difficulties are terms, proper nouns, adjectives and adverbs and complex sentences while solutions include creating a glossary, following the original order, division, conversion and so on.In the report, the translator gives a bundle of case analysis to present various difficulties and solutions, hoping to offer some reference for the later translation practice and study.
