A Report On The E-C Translation Of UNEP Six Priority Areas Factsheets

China’s international status is improving in the past few years. Our country also plays an important role on the UN stage. UN has various subordinate programmes. Each programme performs their respective duties and shoulders the common responsibility of maintaining world peace and development. These programmes also release some publications closely linked to our life. I found that the relevant publications of UNEP are worth researching. UNEP has various publications closely related to global environmental status, which not only has intense relationship with current politics, but also has professional features.UNEP Six Priority Factsheets is an official guidance published by UNEP and its contents involve all aspects of human. Before translating this material, I fully researched this text through Internet, periodicals and magazines. Under the guidance of “Functional Equivalence”, I used many translation skills(such as Syntactic Linearity,Translating in Reverse Order,Division Techniques of Translation,Combination Techniques of Translation and Conversion) to translate this materials and summarized the problems occurred in the translation, which are professional knowledge lacking and incorrect grasp of the style of source text etc. I hope this thesis will be helpful to the translation of same-type text in the future.
