This is a translation report. The source text is The Impact of Private Sector Internship and Training on Urban Youth in Kenya(except Part VII), and its author is Maddalena Honorati, a PHD candidate of Università Commerciale Luigi Bocconi. The source text uses a randomized experiment to evaluate the impacts of the training and internship program piloted in Nairobi, Mombasa and Kisumu counties by the Kenya Private Sector Alliance and the Government of Kenya. The translation report is divided into five chapters. Chapter One is introduction of the translation report, which introduces background and significance of the translation report. Chapter Two is an introduction to the source text. It makes a brief introduction to the author, the main content and the linguistic features of the source text. Chapter Three introduces Nida's Functional Equivalence Theory and its concrete application in this translation report. Chapter Four presents translation difficulties, and illustrates and exemplifies translation methods and techniques the translator used to overcome translation difficulties, which are the translation of technical terms, proper nouns and long and difficult sentences. Translation methods are specification, looking for parallel texts, conversion and division and so on. Chapter Five is conclusion. It summarizes translation experience and lessons, in the hope that the translation project can provide some reference and help for the translation of the same type of informative texts.
