A Study Of Fan Zhen's Literary Activities And Literary Thoughts

Fan Zhen was a famous writer,politician and historian in the Northern song dynasty.His literary activities and literary thoughts were inseparable from his experience.Fan Zhen was good friends with Sima Guang,Ouyang Xiu and Su Shi,they discussed poems,traveled and so on.There were many types of literature creation of Fan Zhen,such as poetry,levy,prose,note.His literary thoughts such as attach importance facts and pursue nature were reflected in his literary creation.His literature was of great valve and significance,which is beneficial for future generation to study the social life of the Northern song dynasty and the customs of Ba Shu in the Northern song dynasty.The book of song history had a specific account of Fan Zhen's life,other books was also recorded,but very little about it.The research upsurge about Fan Zhen appeared in the 1990 s.The research can be roughly divided into four aspects: one is the study of Fan Zhen's life and family;the other is the study of Fan Zhen's social activities;the third is the study of Fan Zhen's literature;the fourth is the study of Fan Zhen's academic thoughts and political activities.In addition,the music and medical research of Fan Zhen also had some achievements.However,in general,there were few studies on Fan Zhen's identity as a litterateur,literary activities and thoughts of Fan Zhen,and even fewer studies on the relationship between Fan Zhen and Ba Shu culture,which provided an opportunity for the study of this paper.This paper studies Fan Zhen's literary activities and thoughts according to the research and writing methods of the history of literary thoughts.Firstly,this paper analyzes the factors that influence the development of Fan Zhen's literary activities and the formation of his literary thoughts,including Fan Zhen's life and writings,his official career,his leisure life,the social and cultural environment of the Northern song dynasty and the aesthetic consciousness tendency of Ba Shu.It was found that Fan Zhen's thoughts of Confucian texts was closely related to his family background,political experience,the attention paid by the rulers of the Northern song dynasty to literati,and the environment of internal and external worries of the Northern song dynasty.In his literary creation,Fan Zhen also worried about the country and cared about the content of the people.His upright and courageous character made the literati he communicated with be loyal and righteous.The prosperity of economy in the Northern song dynasty,the general atmosphere of intellectuals' traveling and theaesthetic trend of elegance and vulgarities as well as appreciation made Fan Zhen interact with literati more frequently and have more traveling activities.The interesting life of citizens also became the material for Fan Zhen's literary creation.In addition,the romance of Ba Shu culture and the tradition of "love elegance" make Fan Zhen love to sing and compose poems,especially during his leisure time.The style of Ba Shu is also an important part of Fan Zhen's literary creation.Secondly,it analyzes Fan Zhen's literary activities,including his communication with literati,history revision and his literary creation.The interaction between Fan Zhen and literati enriched the content of his literary creation,and the literary thoughts of other literati also influenced Fan Zhen's literary pursuit and thoughts.With the prosperity of historiography in the Northern song dynasty and the rulers' attention to the revision of history,Fan Zhen became a historian.During his leisure time,he imitated the tang people and wrote books to describe the events of that time,so that future generations could take an examination of them.Among them,the communication between Fan Zhen and literati can be divided into large-scale poetry and prose reward singing and individual literati communication.His literary creation is classified according to his subject matter,then analyze its ideological content,style and so on.Thirdly,according to Fan Zhen's literary activities,combined with the background of The Times,summarize Fan Zhen's literary thoughts,and make further elaboration.Finally,the value of Fan Zhen's literature is analyzed.His literature recorded the products and places of Ba Shu,contributed to the prosperity of Ba Shu studies in Song dynasty,reflected the political affairs and external relations of the Northern song dynasty,and criticized the flashy literary style of the Northern song dynasty.His literature is also of literature value,cited by other classics,filled in the gaps of other classics,revised other classics and mutually verified with other classics.
