The subject of this paper is Malaysian composer Chong Kee Yong(1971-1971).Chong Kee Yong’s works are diversified in style,which is related to his living environment.Malaysia is a diverse country where he is exposed to different cultures,languages and religions.Chong Kee Yong’s music creation is bold and has its own independent music personality on the basis of the Oriental cultural tone he contacts and the use of western composition technique.Influenced by the strong religious belief and traditional music culture in southeast Asia,such as gamelan and shadow puppetry,Chong Kee Yong incorporated the mysterious charm with religious color and traditional performing art into his vocabulary of music.The thesis mainly studies “Streams of four seasons”,his work.In this work,Chong Kee Yong put forward the concept of " female male mode " based on the folk music material of gamelan.The author will make an in-depth analysis of the examples in order to summarize the techniques of “female male mode",the central tone and the elements of gamelan music in Chong Kee Yong’s works.The author will explore the music style,creative techniques and sound effects in this work.The introduction is divided into three parts: the reason and significance of the study of Chong Kee Yong’s works,the life of the composer Chong Kee Yong and the general situation of “Streams of four seasons”.The text is divided into four chapters.The first chapter mainly analyzes the composition techniques in “Streams of four seasons”,the second chapter analyzes the structure design of the work,the third chapter analyzes the timbre arrangement,and the fourth chapter discusses the author’s creation ideas.In order to study these composing techniques,we hope to have some understanding of Chong Kee Yong’s composing conception.The conclusion is the last part,which will summarize the composer Chong Kee Yong’s work creation style,the research value,as well as the new creation thought inquiry of the fusion with the Asian tradition music and the contemporary composition technique.The author hopes that after studying this work of Chong Kee Yong,some conclusions can be drawn from the unique perspective of his creation and music conception techniques,so as to provide reference for the future Chinese and western scholars studying Chong Kee Yong’s music.
