Research And Practice Of Five-Sense Design Of Books

Book is not only functioned as a record of knowledge,but also a delievery of humanistic sentiment.As we commonly considered five sense as people's ability of vision,touch,smell,hearing and taste,book design under five sense design paradigm could maximize the connection between author,designer and reader,thus enhanced the emotional experience of readers.As a result,the designed book could reach a harmony state with the functionality and aesthetic.Based on case study typical books under multi-sense design paradigm from both native and overseas,especially focus on the form layout,color elements,paper texture,printing process,artistic conception,material application and device of the books,we try to reach a overall design pattern to analyze the psychological and physical state of readers related to the five senses,which will be considered as a new approach to design a book.A good book is designed to set up a bridge of communication for authors and readers,and the special attention to five sense design pattern would make them have a deeper sensory immersion.
