A Study On English Translation Of Chinese Classics Quoted In The Governance Of China From The Perspective Of Variation Theory

The translation variation theory has become an important translation theory.It originates from translation practice and,in turn,guides the translation practice.In recent years,numerous researches on Translation Variation Theory have been carried out,whose results have been widely applied to the translation of various fields.In this study,the English translation of Chinese classics quoted in The Governance of China is studied in this research under the framework of the seven translation variation methods based on the Translation Variation Theory proposed by Professor Huang Zhonglian.This paper adopts two research methods-text analysis and data analysis.The following conclusions can be drawn after the research.Firstly,Chinese classics quoted in The Governance of China are the combination of both characteristics of the translation of Chinese classics andthe translation of the material for political publicity purpose.Secondly,Translation Variation Theory can be widely applied to the translation of Chinese classics in The Governance of China.Lastly,the application of Translation Variation Theory to the translation of Chinese classics in The Governance of China is conducive to the cultural transmission with the emphasis on efficiency.The application of Translation Variation Theory to the English translation of Chi-nese classics in The Governance of China will help to improve the efficiency of translation as well as the transmission of Chinese culture.In addition,it provides a new research perspective for the future study of the English translation of Chinese classics.Its value for the translation of The Governance of China mainly lies in that it accelerates the transmission of the idea of Chinese leaders like Xi Jinping,which has certain significance for China to build up its discourse in the international community.
