The Research On The Semantic Evolution Of "Wei" And "Zuo"

Semantic change is one of the educational world research hot spot of research,but righteousness verb "Wei" and "Zuo" as one of the more common words in ancient Chinese and modern Chinese,the semantic evolution of their respective problems,including the semantic motivation and mechanism of evolution path,semantic evolution has not systematic and comprehensive research and investigation,and "Wei" and "Zuo" is a generic righteousness verb,but is also different in the semantic evolution,based on previous studies and therefore we need to study further.Therefore,this paper,guided by the theory of semantic evolution,describes and studies the semantic evolution of the universal verbs "Wei" and "Zuo" in a diachrony,explores their respective semantic evolution paths and their evolution causes and mechanisms,and on this basis investigates the similarities and differences between "Wei" and "Zuo" in the semantic evolution.The paper is divided into five parts:The first part is the introduction.This paper first expounds the reason and significance of the topic selection,and then mainly introduces the previous studies on the generic verbs "Wei" and "Zuo".On this basis,the research object and method of this paper are proposed,and the source of corpus is explained.The second part is the semantic evolution of "Wei".Through the description of the semantics of "Wei" in each period,this paper sums up three main paths of the semantic evolution of "Wei" : the first is from the real meaning verb to the table judgment,then to the table identification,to the adverb of inquiry meaning,and finally to the choice of conjunction;The second is from the real verb to the passive preposition,the third is from the real verb to the beneficiary preposition,and finally to the reason preposition.The third part is the semantic evolution of "Zuo".Through the description of the semantics of "Zuo" since the six dynasties,combined with the materials in dialects,the semantic evolution path of "Zuo" is summarized: from verbs to prepositions,further semantic evolution into adverbs and conjunctions.The fourth part is the study of the motivation and mechanism of semantic evolution.Based on the research on the semantic evolution path of "Wei" and "Zuo",this paper explores the motivation and mechanism of the semantic evolution of "Wei" and "Zuo".The motivation is mainly semantic,contextual,pragmatic and cognitive psychological factors.The fifth part is the conclusion of this paper.This part summarizes the research content of the paper,and makes a simple analysis of the similarities and differences in the evolution of "Wei" and "do",and puts forward the problems to be further studied in this paper.
