“Hungarian Chinese Textbook” and “HSK Standard Course” are both Chinese textbooks that are widely used by Hungarian middle school students and the public.Since the two textbooks have many similarities in terms of reference outlines and publication time,Chinese teachers in Hungary often compare the two sets of textbooks,and their attitudes toward both are mixed.Some teachers will combine the two textbooks to compile their own handouts.Some teachers will give priority to the Hungarian Chinese textbook and add the contents of the HSK standard course;some will do the opposite.This paper chooses the first volume of two sets of textbooks and makes a comparative study from the aspects of phonetics,vocabulary,grammar,text and exercises.In the aspect of phonetics,the author investigated the selection,distribution and arrangement of the phonetics in the two textbooks;In the aspect of vocabulary,the author investigated the number,grade,arrangement and explanation of new words in the two textbooks;In the aspect of grammar,the author examines the number and grade of grammar items;In the aspect of texts and exercises,the author examined the texts and themes of the two textbooks,as well as the number and types of exercises.In addition,the author carries on the questionnaire and the interview to the Hungarian Chinese teachers,to further analyze the advantages and disadvantages of the two textbooks.Through the comparative analysis of the two textbooks,this paper puts forward some suggestions on the compilation of Hungarian elementary Chinese textbooks inthe following aspects: phonetics,vocabulary,grammar,text and exercises.For example,in the phonetic compilation,the textbook can combine "centralized teaching" with "decentralized teaching",and pay attention to the contrast between Chinese and Hungarian phonetics;In the compilation of vocabulary,the textbook should pay attention to the combination of "simplification" and "according to outline",the pertinence and accuracy of lexical interpretation,and so on.The research in this paper can provide reference for the compilation of elementary Chinese textbooks in Hungary and even other Eastern European countries,as well as for the improvement of Hungarian Chinese Textbook.
