Study On Ticket Distribution In Jiangxi Province Of New China(1954-1983)

Fabric ticket was once an important voucher for people to obtain necessities of life under the planned economy environment.It was printed and issued by the commercial department of the state.It was specially used to purchase cotton cloth,cotton products,textiles and cotton products.It was a typical product of the planned economy system.The birth of cloth tickets is a measure taken by China to implement unified management of cloth purchase and sale and to ensure the planned supply of cloth.The supply system of quantitative vouchers for cotton cloth has been in effect since 1954.The State Council stipulates that it shall be issued by commercial departments of provinces,autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government.Because of special circumstances,when it is necessary to use the ticket in different places,it is necessary to exchange the ticket at the designated place.The special cloth tickets for military use are issued uniformly by the state and can be used all over the country.Ticket units are generally: 1 inch,2 inch,half-foot,1 foot,2 feet,5 feet,10 feet,etc.Cloth tickets are the vouchers of shopping.They do not contain value and are not allowed to be sold or circulated.Tickets are the product of commodity shortage.In the early 1980 s,with the development of agriculture and textile industry,cloth supply became more and more abundant,and cloth tickets were cancelled.Taking the cloth ticket in Jiangxi Province as the research object,this paper investigates the process of the generation,distribution and circulation of the cloth ticket in Jiangxi Province,and studies and analyses the printing,issuance,circulation,management and storage and destruction of the cloth ticket in Jiangxi Province,aiming at illustrating the important position of the cloth ticket in the planned supply system of cotton cloth,playing an important role in the policy of cotton purchase and sale,which is industrialized.Construction has provided guarantee and safeguarded social stability.With the large-scale use of cloth tickets in the field of circulation,people's social life has also had a certain impact.Under the system of quantitative supply of cloth tickets,people limit consumption,and form a sense of thrift and abide by rules.But it also blocked the communication between urban and rural areas and caused some unhealthy social problems.From the development of ticket distribution,we can explore the evolution of social and economic development and understand the ups and downs of the historical process of an era.
