Study On The Image Of Avalokitesvara In The Fanxiangjuan

"Fanxiangjuan"is one of the important Buddhist drawing datum in the early period of Nanzhao.It plays an important role in studying the culture,history and religion of Nanzhao.The whole volume is divided into three sections:the first"The drawing of Li Zhen Emperor worship Buddha",the middle part "The drawing of Buddha Dharma source",and the last"The drawing of the 16 king protectors".Among them,the"The drawing of Buddha Dharma source"is divided into The Dragon Chronicles,16 arhat,and the Buddhist assembly of Big lotus,the Zen patriarch and others,in total ten units.the left second unit of the "The drawing of Buddha Dharma source"is Avalokitevara.This part depicting a total of 18 Avalokitevara.This paper mainly studies the 18 Avalokitevara of this unit.In the first chapter of this thesis,the contents of 18 Avalokitevara statue in Sanskrit are introduced,and the aesthetic analysis of these 18 Avalokitevara statue is carried out from the composition,painting,linellae and color.Secondly,the paper research to some animals,Background,throne,Buddhist light in the part of"Fanxiangjuan".It can be seen that the image of Guanyin in"Fanxiangjuan"has style of Tang and Song dynasties in the Central Plains and the works are very beautiful.In the second chapter of the thesis,Introduced some represe'ntative characters of Avalokitevara statue and animals in in"Fanxiangjuan".as a important material of Yunnan Buddhas to inquire into the origin of Avalokitevara evolution and the cultural information.It can be seen that Nanzhao-Dali royal family use Buddhism and witchcraft to maintain rule.The third chapter introduced the Avalokitevara statue of"Fanxiangjuan"compared with the Buddhist paintings of Tibet,find out the Origin and similarity between Quan Yin and the two places in the Sanskrit Volume,analyse the reasons about hybridity characteristics of Avalokitevara statue in"Fanxiangjuan".This hybrid is characterized by a mixture of Central Plains,Tibet and the beliefs worshiped by local masters.In the fourth chapter of the paper,sum up the first,second and third chapters to expounds the aesthetic characteristics of the whole art of the"Fanxiangjuan",the existing suspicions in the"Fanxiangjuan”are discussed.This paper discusses the limitations of the co-authoring of“Fanxiangjuan"and analyzes the possibility that Zhang Shengwen,the painter,comes from Central Plains.
