Game teaching method has become a common and effective teaching method in today's primary school English class.It has a certain role in introducing new knowledge before class,alleviating the dull atmosphere of the classroom and consolidating new and old knowledge.However,there are still some problems in the actual application of the game teaching method in the primary school English class.Therefore,this study takes S Elementary School as an example to investigate.Questionnaire survey,interview method,and classroom observation method were used to investigate the current situation of the application of game teaching method in primary school English class.From the current game teaching method in the primary school English classroom application problems,problems and improvement strategies are analyzed.The author has found through research that the problems of game teaching method in the use of primary school English classrooms include: the game activities have not received corresponding attention,the game activities are poorly designed,the game activities are organized and lack of rationality.According to the investigation and in-depth analysis,the authors found that the causes of the problems are: the professional quality of the teachers needs to be improved,the game activities fail to promote the students' English literacy,and the game management activities neglect the four aspects of classroom management and independent development of classroom games.Finally,this study proposes corresponding improvement strategies for the problems and causes of the game teaching method in the primary school English class.There are four main aspects: planning games in combination with the requirements of the curriculum standards.The design of the game activities reflects the subjective status of the students,and the game and the in-depth innovative game teaching activities are reasonably set according to the content of the teaching materials.It is expected that this research will enable the game teaching method to be more effective and reasonable in the primary school English classroom,and provide some valuable teaching reference for primary school English teachers.
