A Translation Report Of Control System User Manual Of HC-X1 Two-axis Servo Manipulator

Since China's accession to the WTO,the technical exchanges with foreign countries are becoming deeper and deeper.Therefore,with a large number of machinery products flowing into the international market,the demand for English translation of mechanical product instruction is increasing with each passing day.This report of translation practice is based on a project,namely the Chinese-English translation practice of the Control System User Manual of HC-X1 Two-axis Servo Manipulator,which is commissioned by Ningbo Welllih Robot Technology Co.,Ltd.The original text is the mechanical product instruction,which deals with robotic-related professional knowledge,including its configuration and installation,operation panel,operating mode,functions,and program setting,etc.In order to realize the technical exchange and output of technological products,the translation of mechanical product instruction should pass the faithful details of the products to foreign readers as much as possible,to reduce and avoid the negative impact on product sales,using and so on.This translation practice report uses the Control System User Manual of HC-X1 Two-axis Servo Manipulator as a target to analyze the original text,and the author therein finds out that the vocabulary in the text,which are always concise and precise,has many terms,and that the text sentences are mostly without subject.In the light of the analyses summarized above,the author researches the translation of terms and distinguishes different types of the non-subject sentences prudently,to achieve the equivalence between the original and translation.Beyond that,the writer will summarize the key points and difficulties during translation practice,through exploring the methods of dealing with typical problems,so as to provide reference for the author's and other translators' translation practice.This translation practice report consists of five chapters.The first part introduces the background and significance of the topic;the second part focuses on describing the process of translation,such as the preparatory work,the post-translation review work;the third part analyzes text characteristics;the fourth part discusses the issues to be aware in terms of terminology translation and translation of non-subject sentence,and summarizes the relevant translation strategies on mechanical product instruction through the in-depth analyses of the illustrative sentences;the fifth part summarizes this translation practice.
