Study On Decorative Elements Of Contemporary Chinese Picture-book Design

As a new expression form of the book,the picture book has been developed in China for no more than two decades.Although it has become a good development trend,most of the picture books in the Chinese picture book market are imported from abroad,and the creation of the Chinese original picture book is of importance.It is very important to focus on the research of Chinise original picture book and create a picture book that matches China's national conditions.In a diversified contemporary society,it is the historical responsibility of the designer how Chinese picture book design shows its own personality in thousands of similar breeds,thereby achieving cultural heritage and development.Traditional Chinese decorative elements are precious treasures of art and culture accumulated over a long period of time in China.Traditional decorative elements are increasingly used in the design of modern picture books to highlight the characteristics of design and to promote ethnic culture.This article takes the contemporary Chinese picture book as the main research object.Firstly,it reviewed the domestic and foreign research status of picture book design,clarified the purpose and significance of the research;it summarized the contemporary picture book,briefly described the basic definition of the picture book,and comprehensively analyzed the historical background of development of domestic and foreign picture books,discussing the similarities and differences between three book forms and picture books,including comics,cartoons and illustrations;combining the artistic features of the picture book,a detailed analysis of the contemporary picture book's style characteristics and design performance was made based on examples of graffiti style,ink style,decorative style and interesting style.In combination with examples,morphological analysis of patterns,text,and colors in Chinese traditional decorative elements were carried out;based on this,further research was made into the ways and means of integrating Chinese traditional decorative elements into picture books,including copying,and splicing,deformation.As a kind of imported product,the picture book needs to extract the essence of artistic connotation.According to China's national conditions and cultural characteristics,the proper improvement,evolution and development are carried out,to make the picture book works more suitable for the Chinese market.In the process of developing Chinese picture books,the integration of Chinese traditional decorative elements will certainly play a key role in the formation of the picture books with Chinese characteristics.
