A Report On The Translation Of Positive Psychology Articles

This translation project is a contracted service between the author of this report and Integrated Development Group(IDG)in Beijing.The original texts(in English)are selected from a series of positive psychology articles with lucid language,aiming at changing the mental state of readers and promote their inner happiness as well as our social development.The company demands the translation(from English to Chinese)be simple,understandable and effective.This report,in view of translator's subjective initiative,analyzes how the translator actively and purposefully choose appropriate strategies based on the understanding of source text and readers' needs during the translation process.The application of translator subjectivity principles in specific translation helps identify semantic chain for selection of proper senses of words and is used for the translator to seek meaning in contexts to reveal connotations.It is found that flexibly managing word formation and sentence subject can better arouse the reader's emotional resonance.The translated versions of this report have been adopted by the company and published on their WeChat public platform.It has helped some of the readers out of their psychological difficulties.Based on the theory of translator's subjectivity,this paper summarizes specific strategies of positive psychology translation,in order to provide certain references for the similar translation and study.
