The translation project is derived from The Four: The Hidden DNA of Amazon,Apple,Facebook, and Google, which is written by World famous business professor Scott Galloway. The translator translates Chapter 4 and 5 into Chinese.Through the deconstruction of the four giant Internet companies, the book analyzes the key to their emergence in the entrepreneurial tide, and deeply analyzes the profound impact of the contemporary network on each of us.The fourth and fifth chapters of this book introduce the experiences and strategies of Facebook and Google in development.German functionalist Reiss proposed that translators should choose different translation standards and translation strategies according to the different communicative functions and translation purposes of text types.According to Reiss' text type theory, the source text belongs to informational text.Information-based texts focus on the authenticity and timeliness of content, centering on content rather than form, which requires the translator to pay attention to the “authenticity” and “reader level” of the translation.Accurate information is the main strategy for the translation of such texts.According to the translation characteristics of information-based texts, the author chooses to use the communicative translation theory as the guide, and uses the appropriate target language to express the original meaning of the original text properly,so that the reader of the translation can produce the same effect as the original reader, thus achieving the purpose of accurate communication. The report is divided into four parts. The first part mainly introduces the source of translating project, features of the text as well as difficult points and significance of the translation. The second part describes the process of translation, including preparation, translation and correction.Based on the translation materials, the third part lists about 30 translation cases, analyzing translation methods of information text and the difficult points under the guidance of Communicative translation theory. The last part is a summary which includes author's ideas, enlightenment and expectation. The purpose of the translation is to let more people know about these four Internet companies, and to help them study their corporate culture, operational strategies and the key to success. At the same time, the translator hopes to give some reference to translators or scholars interested in the development of the Internet in China,in order to contribute to the development of translation research with countless translators or scholars who are keen on translation.
