A Report On The E-C Translation Of Scientific Text Under Peter Newmark's Communicative Translation Theory

With the advancement of science and technology and the development of the times,new technologies are emerging.Cloud computing is the product of the development of computer science and Internet technology,as well as the key strategic technology and means to lead the future innovation of the information industry.The Internet of Things is another revolutionary development of the information industry after computers,the Internet and mobile communications,and is officially li;sted as one of the national strategic emerging industries.New advances in science and technology,represented by cloud computing and Internet of Things,are emerging rapidly,and scientific translation industry is also booming.In the face of a large number of scientific translation tasks,choosing translation theories of practical guidance and applying them to the practice of scientific translation have always been a hot research subject.The communicative translation theory,as a translation theory that pays great attention to the reader's experience of target language,has also received a lot of attention on how to use it in the translation of scientific texts.This thesis selects Integration of Cloud Computing and Internet of Things:a Survey and Integration of Cloud Computing with Internet of Things:Challenges and Open Issues as the source texts,performing the translation practice under the guidance of communicative translation theory,and finally presents the research content in the form of practice report.The report is divided into five chapters.Chapter 1 mainly introduces the translation tasks,including the background and expected results and significance of the translation task.Chapter 2 describes the translation process,including the analysis of the source text,the preparation before translation,and the implementation of the translation process and the quality control after translation.Chapter 3 is an overview of the translation principle,covering the introduction of communicative translation theory,the text types division,the characteristics of scientific texts,and the significance of communicative translation theory in E-C translation of scientific texts.Chapter 4 is the case analysis,which discusses the translation methods for terms and noun phrases,for passive voice,and for long sentences and complex sentences.Chapter 5 summarizes the gains and deficiencies of translation practice and makes suggestions for further research.In terms of the content of the translation materials,it is expected that the translated text will provide useful reference for relevant practitioners of Cloud computing and the Internet of Things.In the research of the application of translation theory,it is expected that this report will provide a meaningful reference for the application of communicative translation theory in scientific text translation.
