With the rapid development of Internet technology,new concepts,products and technology are emerging constantly on the Internet.As a result,a number of new words related to Internet are produced.These words include completely new words that are created for describing new things,compound words,abbreviations and so on.Aiming to convey information,they play an important role in communication.Compared with general words,Internet new words have such characteristics as novelty,diversity and fast up-date.As the number of internet readers is increasing year by year,there is an urgent need for experts who are good at translating Internet news.This paper intends to discuss translation works for IT companies.Guided by Newmark's theories of communicative translation and typology,this paper is going to discuss some key strategies for translating Internet new words.It also puts forward three translation strategies: neologism,translation by convention,complement and interpretation.In this way,this paper has enriched researching samples in this field and provided references for other translators.The conclusion of this paper is that if we use Newmark's theories of communicative translation and typology to guide our translation of Internet new words,we'll achieve a better effect.However,the distinction between communicative translation and semantic translation is not absolute,so is the boundary between different texts.Translators should analyze the features and contexts of different texts and combine various translation strategies properly.
