Li Qiao's 120 object-chanting poetry is an unique poetry encyclopedia that uses abundant allusions.Zhang Tingfang had annotated this encyclopedia in the Tang Dynasty,but it has long been lost in China,only left few fragments in Dunhuang.However,we could still found it in Japan,especially an earliest full-length version in being,the Muromachi period's hand-copied book which called The Notes of 120 Object-Chanting Poetry in the library of Keio University.This essay is mainly talking about this version of Li Qiao's 120 object-chanting poetry.The notes in the Keio version quoted from various ancient books before the Song dynasty,so it has great value in both the collation and emendation.Since we haven't seen Zhang's notes for ages,descendants always misunderstand the allusions within these object-chanting poetry.A throughout study of this note will surely help us to evaluate Li Qiao and his poetry more objectively.China acdemia pays little attention to the Keio version before.Only Hu Zhi'ang has classified the different versions of Li Qiao's 120 object-chanting poetry and sketched out their content.To get a systematic understanding of the Keio version,this essay synthesize the method of bibliology,bibliography and textual criticism.Specifically,by comparing with related material and original document,we scrutinized the Keio version's notes.This essay also mean to discover the philological value through analyzing the style,context and the forming process of the Keio version.We could divide this essay into 5 chapters.In the first chapter,we discuss about Li Qiao's life,his works' version and the meaning of those notes.Chapter two concerns the style of Li's poetry,the origin of these notes and speculates with a forming process of the Keio version.Chapter three puts forward some shortcomings of the notes context from the philological angle.Chapter four will majorly inquire into its value in the preservation of the document and how it may be a good help for the collation and emendation.Last but not the least,chapter five concludes the influence,value and shortcomings altogether,and makes an overall evaluation of the Keio version.
