Zhang Qiao And His Poetry Research

Zhang Qiao, one of "The Four Talents of Jiu Hua" and " Ten Wise men of Xian Tong Era" in the late Tang Dynasty. He was from Chi Zhou, a city of Anhui Province. In his poem community, was together with quite a lot of famous and great poets,also including foreigners. There are two series of his poetry,171 poems included in the "Complete Tang poems". This article is a system research in Zhang himself and his poetry. And his entire life, friends,and writings are this article's basic themes. Zhang's poetry can be divided into four parts:Sincerely farewell poems are his decent songs; Ambition lyric poems are his traveling songs; Frontier poems are his warrior songs; Peaceful solitary poems are his hermit songs. By study and analysis Zhang's poems,we can find out the theories deep in his minds were Confucianism,Taoism,and Buddhism that constituted Zhang's world. His poetry is to make a natural combination of poem and imagination,with perfect poetry lyric by different imaginations of fishermen, sailings and pines and cranes. His poetry is unique from his way of art expressions,always following with sincerity,poignant and elegant words. He was always pursuing for decent peace,mild hermit,solitary, lonely, tragic words. His above poetry styles were born from the complicated Tang Dynasty historical background,the open poetry communication cultures,and Zhang's own travelling experiences. And all of them became his art poetry. As for his historical status and influences,we should take an objective attitude to evaluate it,not a extremely height, nor to devalue it. He was one of the best poets during the late Tang Dynasty in Anhui Province,and also a wiser who was quite active in the capital city during Xian Tong Era,his poems have been spreading all through the history flow up to now. And are received and evaluated by book collectors,poem evaluators and reviewers now and then.
