The Relationship Between Group Counseling Relationship And Effect

Researchers have done a lot of research on the subject of the group counseling relationship and effct,and some progress have been made.Because of the complexity of group counseling relationship and the limitations of measuring tools,past research tools can't measure the relationship very well,most of them can only get one aspect of the relationship,which had led to inconsistencies in many studies.In this paper,the three-factor model of group counseling relationship is introduced,and the simplified version of Group Questionnaire(GQ-12)developed based on this model is revised.This paper studies the group counseling relationship from the quality and structure dimensions,and explores the relationship between the group counseling relationship and teffect.In order to achieve this goal,this paper conducted the following three studies:Research one,test the reliability and validity index of the GQ-12 in Chinese college students.The study was based on a sample of mental health education centers in several universities in Hubei and Henan provinces.The results showed that the reliability and validity of the GQ-12 were up to the psychometrics standard and can measure the group counseling relationship.Reasearch two,GQ-12 and OQ-45 were used to measure the relationship and efifect of group counseling.According to the results of OQ-45,improved group members and non-improved group members were selected.Three subscales of GQ-12 were used to compare the development trend of different relationship quality between the two group,members.The results showed that the relationship development pattern of the improved group members was different from that of the non-improved group members.Research three,to further explore the development trend and consistency of different relationship components among the three relationship quality dimensions of GQ-12.The results showed that in the dimensions of positive bonding and negative relationship,the members of the two groups had a consistent perception of the relationship between the member-leader,member-member and member-whole group at different stages of group counseling.In the positive working dimension,the improved members in the whole group process,members of the member-leader rating is significantly higher than the member-member;In the first two times of the non-improved members,the score of the member-leader was significantly higher than that of the member-member,and the later evaluation of the two relationship components tended to be consistent.Finally,we discuss the advantages and disadvantages of this research and propose four research directions in the future.
