Although in the past few decades,systematic studies of brain learning mechanism have been made in academia,its application in the field of education has not been fully recognized and effectively carried out.Moreover,there are few books in China that study the importance of brain science for education reform and development which,to a certain extent,limits the application and popularity of brain science in the field of education.The Education Revolution: How to Apply Brain Science to Improve Instruction and School Climate is a book which introduces the application of the latest findings in brain science and neuroscience into pedagogy.Therefore,it is chosen as the source text of this translation practice and it is hoped that the translation of the source text will bring some enlightenment to the education and teaching in China.This translation report is based on the translation practice of the Introduction and the first three chapters of the source text.Besides task description and translation process description,this report mainly discusses the translation difficulties and solutions in the translation practice under the guidance of Newmark's text type theory.The translator mainly adopted communicative translation strategy in this translation practice with the purpose to help Chinese readers more easily and accurately understand the meaning of the source text.Therefore,the translator adopted various translation methods to deal with the problems in dealing with the translation of nominalized structures,complex sentences and parenthesis.In the conclusion part,the translator summarizes the main content of this report and what she has gained from this translation practice.It is hoped that this translation report can provide some reference and enlightenment for the translation of the same type of texts in the future.
