Nowadays,the integrated development and application of information technology and education is reshaping the educational model.The Big Data-Driven Education Reform and the Second International Forum for Education Big Data was held at the Qufu Oriental Confucian Garden Hotel from November 11 to 12,2017.Aimed to satisfy the people with an education of higher quality,the forum mainly focused on hot topics like big data,education governance,education quality evaluation,professional development of teachers and the learning of students.The author assisted the supervisor in successfully accomplishing the simultaneous interpreting task for the academic forum.As required,the conference organizer only provided E-C simultaneous interpreting,which was delivered by the supervisor.The author herself was responsible for whispering interpreting for some important foreign scholars during the opening ceremony and keynote speeches.In addition,the author also interpreted simultaneously with the microphone switched off when Chinese scholars gave speeches.Based on the practical experience,the author wrote this Report.This Report consists of six chapters.Chapter 1 introduces the background,structure and methodology of this Report.Chapter 2 introduces the interpreting preparations including task background,task requirements,apparatus check,collection of information,analysis of audience and speakers as well as the necessities.Chapter 3 describes the whole interpreting process and post-interpreting assessment.The author collected the audience's feedback through investigation and interview,and deeply analyzed the simultaneous interpreting effect and the audience's evaluation.Since only the supervisor and another two graduate students were the audience of the C-E simultaneous interpreting,so the author invited more second year graduate students of MTI to listen to the interpreting recordings and collected more feedback.Then the author made a deep reflection on the feedback.Chapter 4 is the cases analysis.The first part mainly analyzes the author's proper treatments in the C-E simultaneous interpreting,that is,in order to ensure the interpreting quality,the author skillfully adopted the following interpreting techniques: revising the speech errors,simplification,anticipation,EVS extension and paraphrasing.The author explains the reasons and purposes of applying these techniques to the on-site interpreting with specific cases.The second part mainly analyzes author's improper treatments in the C-E simultaneous interpreting,which includes wrong tone,under-fluency,pause and information loss.The author analyzes the reasons for the improper treatments and proposes corresponding improvement measures.Chapter 5 is the post-interpreting reflections.Based on the audience'sfeedback and self-evaluation,the author recognizes her advantages and disadvantages in the C-E simultaneous interpreting.In regard to her own disadvantages,the author puts forward some valuable suggestions for interpreters,the conference organizers and for colleges to improve the English interpreting teaching.Chapter 6 summarizes the whole interpreting report.The author hopes this Report can provide some useful references for interpreters who want to enter the simultaneous interpreting field,although it has many limitations.
