A Report On Interpreting Task Of The 12th EU-China Business And Technology Cooperation Fair Based On The Interpreting RDA Model

With the deepening globalization,more and more large-scale international conferences and exhibitions are held across China.This report is based on the author's interpreting recording at the 12 th EU-China Business and Technology Cooperation Fair(the Fair)in 2017 as the source material.In the guidance of the Interpreting Dynamic RDA Model proposed by Lai Yihua,the author has analyzed the difficulties she has encountered: the speaker's accent and speaking speed in the listening comprehension stage,note-taking and the allocation of effort in the memorization stage,and new words,improper use of words and polysemous words in the re-expression stage,then she summarizes corresponding coping tactics to help complete interpreting tasks in the future.This report first introduces the interpreting task,including the Fair and B2 B matchmaking meeting as well as the requirements of the task,and then describes the interpreting process from preparation(preparation of terminology,mental preparation and preparation of tools)to interpreting.The author lists the main difficulties in the interpreting process,gives improved interpretations for imperfect expressions and summarizes coping tactics(learning about the pronunciation habits of speakers,grasping key words;numbers+units/key words;key words+modifiers;key words+logic symbols,etc.).At last,the report briefly talks about the feedback from both the company and the author herself.This report is a practical application of the interpreting dynamic RDA model,aimed to inspire more interpreters to have a deeper understanding of the interpreting process,and consciously improve the quality of their interpretation.
